TRINITY EMPOWERMENT CENTER
Our Story
Welcome to the Trinity Empowerment Center.
The journey to this point has been several years in the making. My name is Jo and I have lived my life being guided by Spirit and the Trinity Empowerment Center has been the biggest task I have been guided to do. I was first given this vision in 2012 but it felt overwhelming. How would I get the land and the funds to make it happen? Plus, would people even come? Would I be able to do it? Since I was asked to do this I was trusting Spirit would provide the means to make it happen. I decided to explore options for layouts and came up with a basic plan and began to share that vision with people and, although many were excited about it, things weren’t coming together so I put it on the back burner and I went on with my life with all the other tasks I was doing. A couple years went by but the push became stronger and stronger so finally I sat in meditation with my guides and tried to convince them I was not the right person for the job. They didn’t agree so I decided on a compromise and said “Fine, give me a place in town where I can see if I am capable and if people want it”. A week later I started Nirvana 101 in Medicine Hat, and people loved it. This was the summer of 2015 and over the next 4 years we expanded 3 times to where we are today at 6,000 square feet of goodness. I thought “ok, maybe this is good enough and they will not keep pressing about the off-grid center”, I was wrong!
A miracle happened during the toughest time in our community in 2020-21… People started caring about their well-being (maybe because they couldn't go anywhere). Nirvana was booming… I was thrilled for our community. I managed to save some money during that time, actually just enough for a down payment on a property. By the fall of 2021, I again felt the pressure from my guides constantly. They said “You need to get on this center, the people will need it”. A few months later I was guided to a property and we ended up purchasing it and began the journey to making this vision a reality. It’s been 4 years now and it has felt like very slow going as we could only build as funds allowed and so far we were not able to do it how I envisioned it but it is still amazing! We started with just an open field, and it needed to transform into the space we envisioned. We had to pivot a few times, but with me working extra jobs to get funds and with the love, support, and numerous hours of volunteer hours by my family and community, we were finally able to have our Grand Opening in September, 2025. I love the space and what we have created. Of course there will always be lots more to do but I am very happy with where we are at and I can’t wait to share it with you.
